When war enveloped Europe, the United States tried to remain neutral. In 1917, however, the U.S. joined the Allied cause. The government quickly moved to mobilize the economy and to build public support for the war.

1.) Suggest things that a government might do to mobilize a nation's economy to meet a national emergency.
2.) How might a government also mobilize public support.
