The U-boat Peril – in early 1942 the German navy launched a series of u-boat raids on America’s eastern seaboard.
ReplyDeleteThe draft – In june 1940 with world war II on in full force in Europe and asia the u.s. congress passed the selective training and service act.
Rationing – Even before Americas entry into the war the us government made plans to ration goods considered essential to the war effort.
1.) The attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan was one of the most trajec events in the World War II. Nearly 2,400 Americans were killed and almost every vessel was sunk.
ReplyDelete2.)The U.S government highly encouraged war propoganda. The media reacted by making posters and advertisements for war bonds. Overseas the U.S dropped pamphlets over foreign towns to try to pursuade people to American side.
3.) The female percentage of the U.S workforce increased nearly 10 percent during WWII. An additional 350,000 women served in the war workforce.

From 1940 through 1945 the workforce of women increased 27 percent.
The U boat Peril
For more then six months the U-boats hovered the East coast causing serious problems for the U.S merchant shipping.
1) The percent of women in the work force increased from 27% to 37%. When the men were drafted it left gaps in the work force and the women filled these spots.
ReplyDelete2) The U.S. dropped 8 million leaflets on other countries to give an image of the strength of America. We were trying to encourage other countries to surrender.
3) In 1943 we made all of the Japanese Americans answer a series of questions to prove their loyalty to the United States.
2) Women in the war helped make production very well sense the men were off fighting.Pearl Harbor was an eye opener for us and that is what make us join the war. And rationing helped with the war efforts too.

In the draft, if you were between the ages of 21-36 you were required to sign up for the draft. The age limit was changed later saying that all men between 18-65 had to sign up. This was after Pearl Harbor.

3.)During the World War II, women entered the workforce as the men leaving for war left gaping holes in the workforce that we had. The percentage of the women in the workforce went from 27% to 37%.

ReplyDelete1. The manhatten project was a top secret government-authorized program. It was responsible for testing and developing nuclear bombs which were eventually used on the Japanese. The project was made up of tons of scientists and took place in several cities.
ReplyDelete2. Panzer tanks were developed by German scientists after WWI. They kept trying to upgrade these weapons and the most popular version was the Panzer IV. Many more advancements and attachments were built on this tank as the war went on.
3. The USS Enterprise was the most decorated ship in the American Fleet. It was on its way back to Pearl Harbor when it was bombed and it fought in many key battles in the Pacific campaign and received many honors.
1)Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japense, which made the U.S. join the war. Also this made the Americans put Japense in camps to make sure they did not try and harm the U.s. more.

1. War propaganda was highly popular back in the day. In order for the U.S. to go to war and be able to financially be able to pay for it they would need public support. Most war propaganda advertised for war bonds which were one of the biggest forms of profit for the government.
ReplyDelete2. The Manhattan project was a top secret project that they tested in New Mexico. It was the key point in making the U.S. an atomic power in the years to come and eventually was the reason we won the war.
3. German U-Boats posed a terrible threat to U.S. merchant ships for six months during WW2. During these 6 months the Germans called it "Second Happy Time" which translated into German is "Zweite Glückliche Zeit." These U-Boats would hover around the eastern coast attacking everything in sight.
