  1. The gist of reconstruction of the south was to help the slaves get on their feet and to start their lives over. The Freedman's Bureau helped the process, but Lincoln was assassinated and Andrew Johnson became President and he stopped the Bureau. The blacks did not agree with this act, but they survived.

  2. The reconstruction for the south was to set the slaves free and give them a new chance at life. The north gave them education and 16 former slaves became congresman. Lincoln started the freemans bureau but then he was assasinated so andrew jackson took over and stopped it putting the slaves in trouble but they made it through.

  3. The reconstruction was a rebuilding of the affecfts of the Civil War. This including on deciding what to do with 3 millin slaves and lots of destruction but mainly slave.. THe north and LIncoln created the Freemen's Bereau for the slave to give support or wellfare to freed slaves. This was a very controvercial act byu Lincoln. The southerners were still against blacks and the idea of them being free. Most still thought of themselves as superior and wanted to control the blacks. A comment was made that mixing the freed slaves into the south's society was like trying to mix water and oil.

  4. The reconstrtction was to help fix the SOuth and help the slaves. The Free Mans bureau was to help all of the free slaves. This included educating them, giving them land, and helping them gget on their feet. Many people opposed it because they were being taxed to help these people. Most were biased towards the African Americans. Lincoln was assinated though and Andrew Johnson took over and oblished the bureau. In the South people whites still felt sufferior and hated the blacks. In the North people began to move South looking for new jobs they were called carpet baggers. In all the African Americans prospered though, and got jobs.

  5. The Reconstruction was mostly about freeing slaves and letting them start their lives over as freed men. The Freedman's Bureau allowed the slaves to do so. President Lincoln was assasignated and Andrew Johnson was now the President. President Johnson didnt like the Bureau, like many others in the south, and he stopped it.It didnt stop the slaves from trying. Even though they still werent treated fairly they managed to get somewhere in life. Some even got jobs.

  6. The reconstruction was to help the slaves out by freeing them. The Free Man's Bureau helped them a lot to get the job done. The South was upset because Johnson stopped the bureau when he became president. The North also made their way to the South for more job oppurtunities as well.

  7. The Reconstruction was mainly to rebuild the southern economy with the blacks being part of it, and not just as workers. During the Reconstruction, the Freed Mans Bureau was created so the could get land and schooling. With this, the freed men got a mule and fourty acres of land, although most of the land ended up back in the hands of the whites.
