During the 1912 campaign, Woodrow Wilson pledged to restore opportunity in American life. Once in office, Wilson moved to lower tariffs, reform banking, regulate corporations, and aid farmers and wage earners. As Wilson began his second term in office, progressives could claim some success in their efforts to improve American life. Yet much remained to be done. Progressives had barely begun to clean up government and regulate business, women still did not have the right to vote, and the pledge of equal opportunity for all Americans remained unfulfilled.

1.) Imagine you are a public relations adviser to President Wilson. Your task is to develop a media campaign to "sell" to the American public Wilson's reforms for tariff and banking.

This would be good for America. The lower tariff prices and better banking would make things cheaper and lower class families will be able to afford more things. It is a good plan and will help the average American family greatly.

Without this people will be hurt or trying to destroy each others business. Also Wilson is making it a easier and more safer banking for the American citizen. I believe and you should believe that this will change the American world greatly. This will strengthen our bonds and better unit us!

Vote for President Wilson, he is a man from the people. He made changes not only promise them. Just compare what he promised and what the progressives promised, he fulfilled his promises. Progressives on the other hand did not, did they regulate businesses yet? NO! Did they give women the right to vote? NO! Did they fulfill equal opportunities for all Americans? NO! So why still believe in them? Woodrow Wilson did everything he promised!

He also plans to pass the Federal Reserve Act, which is a 3 level banking system that will be much more efficient! So remember vote for Wilson because the other candidate plans to out law bacon! Some small businesses are a families main source of income and without that income they would not survive. Wilson also is reforming banking, making it more user friendly and safe. The people have to understand this is all going to take time so we can make it the best we can. The people have to understand that if you try to do it fast and make all these changes that the changes wont last. But if you take your time and make the changes the best you can it will last longer. That is our goal is to not just to clean up the government but also make a government to last a long time and be more efficient. ReplyDeleteWilson promises that he will do everything in his power to continue the reform for tariffs and banking, but in a more efficient way than previous Presidents. The plan is to greatly decrease tariffs and create a better banking system. A three-level banking system is the best idea. The first level will be the Federal Reserve Board, appointed by the President, and charged with running the system. The second level will be several Federal Reserve banks under mixed public and private control. They serve other banks rather than individuals. And the last level will be private banks which will be able to borrow from the Federal Reserve banks at interest rates set by the Board. Now, all we have to wait for this to be followed through, and this will not take long.

ReplyDeleteA new leader stands before the American people today. He is Woodrow Wilson -- the new twenty-eighth president of the United States. He believes in lower tariffs reducing the amount of money taken in by the federal government. So the Senate is also approving a tax on income, or earnings. A constitutional amendment is being passed to permit such a tax.
