Theodore Roosevelt was the first progressive president of the United States. Taking office after the assassination of President William McKinley, Roosevelt was elected in his own right in 1904. During his two terms as president, he promoted the regulation of big business and helped preserve natural resources for future generations.

1. the Square Deal became Rooosevelt's 1904 campaign slogan. He Promise to see to it that every man has a square deal, no less and no more. This Pledge summed Roosevelt's belief in balancing the intrests of labor, business, and consumers.

3. TR and Obama are alot closer than what many people thin. they both aim to help the current America to make it a better place for the now and the people who have to live here later. They both regulate big business and things of that nature.

Roosevelt fought for change in government. He wanted to change the ways that past presidents did things. Obama fought for the same thing. To me he represents change. He will porbably change many ways that past presidents have not.

3)Theodore Roosevelt in many ways relates to Barack Obama. for one, both are fueled by a desire to change the way the US is ran. Through business's and economic ties. Also, they both are variable in thier offssets on dealing with corruption in political spots as well. Neither were really challenged.

They both wanted and did change to the U.S. I think they both will do and did good things for our countries.
The Square Deal came about when Roosevelt helped settle a deal between miners and mine owners where each got a little bit of what they wanted, that way they were equal. So Roosevelt called this a "square deal", and then used it as his slogan for his campaign.

Theodore Roosevelt decided to take a hands on approach to government. This was different than the presidents before him, Roosevelt brought dynamic leadership to the progressive movement. This is like Obama, people like him because he's different than our previous presidents. They both showed that they were different, and determined to make change, and thats why they won their elections.

ReplyDeleteRoosevelt to fight corruption placed many Acts in place luike the Elkins Act, Hepburn Act, Meat Inspection Act, Pure Food and Drug Act. All these limited of the power of those trying to control the government.
A parallel between the two is that they both are coming into the presidency with many problems internally dealing with the econemy. Both also have a good record of reaching across the aisle for a bipartisanship approach on goverment.

He also used a method called trustbusting. He also worked to protect the consumer while being concerned about the food and drug industries. One other thing was that he worked to protect the enviroment. He recognized that our natural resources were limited and that the needs of business had always taken precedent over the enviroment. This compares to Barack because I think he’s concerned about our enviroment and our resouces and wants to do a better job with protectin them and preserving them. It also sounds like Roosevelt was a people person and I think the Barack has our countries people’s best interest in mind and I think he’ll work really hard to get the country going again and that’s pretty much what Roosevelt did.
