
President Wilson developed a program for a just peace even before the war ended. This program served as the focus of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Wilson had to compromise on many of the points, but the final treaty included the heart of his peace program-the League of Nations. The U.S. Senate, however, rejected the treaty. Without American membership, the League of Nations proved inadequate to solve the world's postwar problems.

ReplyDeleteThe war cost alot of countrys. The casualties for some countrys were so high that after the war there was nothing left. Germany and Russia lost over 7 million men each. The econonmys was also declining for many countrys as the government paid off war debts. But what made many people of Europe mad was the mistreatment from the Big Four countrys after the war had ended. The middle east sided with the Allies so they could gain there freedom after the war ended, but they were put under French and British rule which made many of them mad.
