
Spurred by industrialization, American cities grew dramatically during the second half of the century. With this growth came other changes, and a distinct urban culture developed.

1.people were coming from places like mexico to find jobs here in the us. because we were becoming a very wealthy and technological counry, people from out of the country wanted to like here legally or not.
ReplyDelete2. we were losing the jobs that we didnt want to do by the immigrants who would work more for a cheaper cost. this made the unimployment rate ski rocket for the americans.
3.the present day problems are much like the past day problems. we still have people crossing the boarder to come work for money here in the us. we americans are losing our jobs little by little because of this issue. the unimployment rate for the americans has rose and fell as time went by.
1.more and more people came to our country making the numbers of the people go up.

3.Some of the issues are still today about the job pay and some other issues as well, and there are some people still imigrating to the U.S.

3. there are lot of limitations to how much people can get into the country and alot more paper work to get in. there are alot more jobs requiring imagrants these days because back then they couldnt afford to get that many and pay all of them.
1-between 1860 and 1919 almost 30 million people came from Europe to the USA. this increase in immigration had many effects
ReplyDelete2-Well, the native Americans were killed off by disease and war between them and the European Immigrants. Their are way too many tribes and arguments to really detail.
3-There were an estimated 38 million immigrants in the United States in 2008, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2010, 9.6 million came from Mexico, 1.9 million from China and about a million from Canada.

ReplyDelete2.)Well, the native Americans were killed off by disease and war between them and the European Immigrants. But for the most part that sums it up. Then of course their was the legendary Trail of tears. Andrew Jackson was one of the famous people among the makers of this plan. They decided to force all the Native Americans out of their homes and sent them into concentration camps. Soon almost all the Native American population died out from Slavery, Disease, Murder Ect. Basically it was one of the biggest atrocities ever committed by man. Of course they don't tell you that part during thanksgiving.
3.)The history of immigration to the United States is a continuing story of peoples from more populated continents, particularly Europe and also Africa and Asia, crossing oceans to settle in the new land. Unlike Eurasia, North and South America were major continents which had not been settled by humans until perhaps 15,000 years ago.
1). modern corporations needed more workers, so women started to work for lower wages than men. then immagrates started to come over to work also. by 1900 one third of the country's industrial workers were foreign-born.

Later about 70 percent of the new immigrants wer4e from southern or eastern Europe and most were Catholic, Jewish, or Greek Orthodox. French, Canadians, Armenians, Arabs, Chinese, and Japanese also arrived by the thousands.
ReplyDelete2) Nativists successfully pushed for restrictions on immigration. They wanted these restrictions because the immigrants were willing to work cheaply which robbed native-born Americans of jobs and lowered wages for all.
3) It's the same as present day U.S because today we have Mexicans trying to immigrate to the U.S too often and sometimes illegally.

3. they are pretty much the same exzact thing. but it is being proven to be true to some point. we blame all of them when it is just a few that make it terrible.
1) More immigrants from Europe came in greater numbers. As industry grew, the immigrants saw this as an opportunity to make some more money than they would in their former countries. Immigrants came over in more numbers to Ellis Island.

3) Well they are about the same. Immigrants coming over here searching for new opportunities and to make money to support themselves. As well, most Nativists don't like new people in their country that don't even speak their language and take their jeeooobbbs for cheaper wages.

1) It grew in rapid numbers. We had many more people coming to the U.S. and settling in cities causing it to be more urban. In 1865 only 14 cities had a population of over 100,000. By 1900 it was 29 cities.
ReplyDelete2) The native people did not like them coming here and put them to the "dirty work". The native-born Americans viewed immigration as a threat. They didn't think that the immigrants would fit in, and some people even blamed immigration for all bad things.
3) Today we still have the same issues. The hispanic and latino population has been taking many of the same type of jobs in the U.S. Some Americans do not like this because they suffer from employment because we have to many people for the jobs available. Some people take to racism and look down upon the immigrants.

ReplyDelete2.)Natives took it as a threat. Many felt that the newcomers were just too different to ever fit in, and some went as far as to say that they were to blame for the social ills of America. They believed that they were taking the jobs of too many Americans.
3.)They are very similar in which in the present day, a lot of immigrants, mainly of the hispanic descent, are stealing jobs that are considered cheap labor from people actually born in America. This is a huge issue in about every state, also.
