1) The square deal was Roosevelt's slogan. He wanted every man to have a "Square Deal" or an equal amount of opportunity. He wanted everyone to be able to pursue what they want no matter what there social class was.
ReplyDelete2) Roosevelt was okay with big businesses but he believed that everything should be best for the public. One thing he did was "Trustbusting". This was to stop monopolies with things like the Elkins Act and the Hepburn Act. He was also active in the food industries and the protection of environment. All of this was to help the public.
3) Still today there are controversies with monopolies and the government. If one company gets too much power, then it will hurt consumers. Also, there is a lot of legislation about food and drugs. The FDA is always busting companies for disease outbreaks. The situations are very similar as well as the ways of fighting it.
