President Wilson developed a program for a just peace even before the war ended. This program served as the focus of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Wilson had to compromise on many of the points, but the final treaty included the heart of his peace program-the League of Nations. The U.S. Senate, however, rejected the treaty. Without American membership, the League of Nations proved inadequate to solve the world's postwar problems.

Somethings that exist today because of WWI is the economics and the politics. The change in the forms of changing politics, economics and public opinion. Many countries began to adopt more liberal forms of government, and a hostile Germany was forced to pay for a large deal of war reparations, which ultimately led to the start of World War II.
ReplyDeleteIt reduced the global influence of Europe, destroying some of its monarchies and empires and diminishing the strength of others. It enabled new nations to emerge. Shifting economic resources and cultural influences away from Europe, the war encouraged nations in other areas of the world, notably the United States, to challenge Europe's international leadership.
ReplyDelete1. WW1 was the systematic destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I. It was implemented through wholesale massacres and deportations, with the deportations consisting of forced marches under conditions designed to lead to the death of the deportees. The total number of resulting Armenian deaths is generally held to have been between 1 million and 1.5 million. Other ethnic groups were similarly attacked by the Ottoman Empire during this period, including Assyrians and Greeks, and some scholars consider those events to be part of the same policy of extermination. The impact today was that they theyt invented new weapons,and found new inventions for war.

ReplyDeleteThe war left Europe was left in ruins and there was a huge amount of casualties. Also, the war did not solve any problems that were present before the war. Actually, WWI lead to WWII. Tensions rose and Germany was treated harshly.

1) Germany was still struggling with paying off their debits, is one thing. there is still tension in some regions, and tension with religon.

While Northern France was completely destroyed. Businesses could not keep up with the demand and rampant inflation resulted. Food shortages were so low in Germany it was hard to keep track of prices. Throughtout the continent, nations vied with one another over territories they thought the treaty ought to have ceded to them.

To add insult, the influenza epidemic killed some 27 million worldwide. The influenza is still around today, but it is much less severe. This war had left the industry and ag. of much of continental Europe in ruins.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Paris Peace Conference of 1919, the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919, between Germany on the one side and France, Italy, Britain and other minor allied powers on the other side, officially ended war between those countries. Other treaties ended the belligerent relationships of the United States and the other Central Powers. Included in the 440 articles of Treaty of Versailles were the demands that Germany officially accept responsibility for starting the war and pay heavy economic reparations. This treaty drastically limited the German military machine: the German troops were reduced to 100,000 and the country was prevented from possessing major military armament such as tanks, warships, and submarines.

The U.S armed forces counted 112,000 dead. Most of the industries and agriculture were left in ruins in Europe. So the business' couldn't operate very well because of the demand for so much stuff.
ReplyDelete1. People such as women had nothing to do while there son's and or husband's were at war so ther decided to work in factories around the country to provide supplies for the war. Everyone in the world had stoped eating meat on mondaysand conserve supplies in the states and sent them to the war site for the soldiers. Companies back then might have been made to change making cars to make tanks or war jeeps and the might still be making them today and are making more money.
ReplyDelete1. The war left most of Europe in ruins. The middle east was set under the rule of Great Britain and France. Even though the League of Nations doesn't exist anymore. NATO and the UN came to be after having 2 world wars. Many new weapons were introduced during the war and made mass killing a lot easier. Thus eventually terrorist organizations were formed.
