In the Pacific, meanwhile, the United States seized Japanese held islands, including the Philippines. Atomic attacks devastated Japan, and it surrendered in August 1945.

1) It flattened a huge area of the city and it killed more than 75,000 people. After the second bomb the Japanese thought that around 240,000 people were killed from the bombs. They either died right away, or from burns, and radiation poisoning.

1.) A day before the bombing of Nagasaki, the Soviet Union had declared war on japan and began an invasion of Manchuria. The japanese soon offered to surrender. the formal surender was signed on sept. 2,1945, aboard the battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

1. peolple were about to enter japan and they were scared until the idea of just eliminating the whole country. people were happy that they didnt have to invade.

1. they dropped the bomb to destroy the factories creating wepons. japan needed to be slowed down so that they could be eventually stopped. It killed inocent people but you cant always kill just the bad guys. Dropping the bomb isnt our countries proudest event but you have to do what you have to do. and at that time they did what they had to.

The capacity to end the war with Japan was in his hands, but it would involve unleashing the most terrible weapon ever known. I believe that the choice to use the bomb in the first place was well thought of. I also think that these bombs should have been more often.

They dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. The blast kill 100s of thousands. Nearly wiped out all life on the islands. This demoralized the enemy and forced them to surrender.

1.) They tested out the bomb in New Mexico, and the day after Truman offered Japan a surrender (Japan surrendering) and they rejected it. Shortly after (at 8:15 exactly) the Enola Gay dropped it on a part of Hiroshima and killed 240,000 people.

1-Truman went to a meeting with the allied leaders at postdam and they demanded japan's unconditional surrender, wich japan reject.

1) After many years of war with japan the US asked them to surrender and they did not so after testing the otomic bomb the president decided to give the go ahead flag and bomb Japan and after that the war ended.
