With constitution day being on September 17th, we pause to reflect on the vast importance of this document. Written over 200 years ago, this document has changed and been added to in order to bring about positive progress. Through the rights of freedom of press, speech, assembly, petition and religion as well as the right to vote, all are important principles contained within the constitution.

1.) Explain in your own word the importance of the constitution.

1. The constition is important for a great number of reasons primarily because it was the document that founded our goverment, it was the basis of what would form the United States and amazingly because it was so well crafted that here we are over 200 years later and we are still using the exact same document to run our country.
ReplyDelete2.Article 1, section 1 states that all legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Article 1 Section 2 states that The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
These are both very important or else we would be an unstable country.
On September 17, 1787, forty-two of the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention held their final meeting. Only one item of business occupied the agenda that day, to sign the Constitution of the United States of America.

DeleteWell what I learned was what Article 1 Section 1 and Section 2 state. It is true that these keep our country stable. And I think it's cool how we still use the constitution and will use it for a long time to come.

It's important because if an innocent person is accused it gives him the chance to prove that he is not guilty.
Free Speech- is the political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas via speech
Important because it allows us to say what we think and won't be punished for it.

The constitution is a great thing, without it some freedoms we have everyday would not be there. Our lives would change drastically to what do now.

Delete1. The constitution is important because it allows us to say what we want, and if we don't like or agree with something we can disagree. We can do a lot with the consitiution. If we didn't have it would be a huge problem because it would be taking rights away us individuals.

3. the states had to give up many powers in order to create the new Constitution, they insisted an amendment be added that affirmed their ongoing role in the governmental design. In fact, the Tenth Amendment was the only part of the Bill of Rights that was recommended by all the state conventions that submitted proposed amendments.
4. The reason we have constitution day on the 17th, is because Thats's the day the constitution was signed.
I agree that the constitution is important for all of those reasons. And I feel like without it we would be having problems like in the middle east.

ReplyDelete2- Article 11 deals witth the executive branch and says that you have to be a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the U.S to become the president. I agree with this so the people know more about the U.S.
Another thing in this article is that if the president, vice president, and all civil officers of the U.S, will be removed from office on impeachment for any treason,bribery, or other crimes and misdemeanors.
I think that it's important to be a citizen of the U.S to be president, that way we don't have somebody who knows nothing about us or our history trying to run things.

It's what gives us the pursuit of happiness and next to the Bible is one of the most important documents in United States history.

The first ammendment says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This basically says we have the freedom to worship as we please and show it openly and that we will not be persecuted and die as maurders in America.
3. Another is the Freedom of Speech which is just mainly being able to state your own opinion. Ya sure it may lead to strikes and such but it's still what makes America America and America wouldn't be the same without any one of the freedoms were promised.

Article 4 SECTION. 1. Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
I agree that free speech is important that way people can't hold back what we want to say.

Delete1.) The constitution is very very important with out it we would have no freedoms or rights. There would be no restrictions to our government, or our police force. We may not even be living in a democracy without our constitution. If we didn't have a constitution there would be no rules. Without the constitution we would be living in a whole other world.
ReplyDelete2.) Article 4; Section 2 says that if you commit a crime and then flee the state in which you committed that crime the governor can demand custody of you.Article 4; Section 1 says that states can make their own laws but they have to abide by the rules of congress and other regulations.

ReplyDelete2.)I chose abortion because i believe its a persons right and the constitution gives everyone the right to make that dicision if they choose to do so. I think its wrong for others to judge on it because they dont think how it would be if it were happening to them.
Gay rights- article 5 section 1 they talk about the laws of it and the way it should be. They discriminate against gays but if you look from their point of view they look at regular couples and think were weird. Everyone deserves to be who they are without going against the law.
i agree that the government should be ok with who people are and that they deserve to be who they are and not worrying about what the government says about them.

1) The Constitution is important because it is the literal symbol of our freedom from Great Britian. It tells us our laws and our rights (though sometimes people can get mixed around on which is which). It is the structure of our country.
ReplyDelete2) Article IV Section 2 states that anyone who has been charged with a crime and then flees to another and is found is to be sent back to the state in which his crime was commited so that justice may prevail. Article IV Section 3 it states that all new states who are inducted into the Union will not be bound by laws of other states but instead will have their own laws.
3) Lane- So our representatives are chosen every second year? Huh, I was unaware of that. So if this is the case then how many times can they be voted back in before they’re no longer able to run as representative?

DeleteThe constitution is what makes our country the best country in the world. It shows our freedom as U.S. citizens. It was written by men that wanted to form a country where everybody was equal. Without it our country would not be the greatest country on earth.
ReplyDeleteThe First Amendment states the right of free religion. This is huge today many countries do not have this right and are persecuted each day. As Americans we can believe what we want and not be persecuted or arrested. Going to church on Sunday may not seem that important, but it really is.
Thirteenth Amendment abolishes slavery. This goes with that all men are made equal. In the U.S. all people are equal. No slavery is allowed and people live together equally.
