President Wilson developed a program for a just peace even before the war ended. This program served as the focus of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Wilson had to compromise on many of the points, but the final treaty included the heart of his peace program - the League of Nations. The U.S. Senate, however, rejected the treaty. Without American membership, the League of Nations proved inadequate to solve the world's postwar problems.

1) In genergal Wilson's fourteen points were about the reshaping of the world after the war. Some of the specifics included free seas, free trade without retribution, and some were laws to help minority groups like the Poles. It also called for the creation League of Nations.
ReplyDelete2) All in all, it was not smooth and didn't turn out how Wilson wanted it. He had to scrap most of his Fourteen Points in order for all of them to agree on it. But once he had fit it there standards nobody else liked it. Germany felt betrayed, and the American emotions toward it were all over the place.
3) The United Nations. Basically the mission of the United Nations is to help keep the peace between countries and to help countries that need it.

ReplyDelete2. Did not turned out how Wilson had planned it too. He scrapped most of his points in order for all of them to agree on it.Germany had felt like they got stabbed in the back, and Americans emotions were instable.

1. The fourteen points Wilson came up with were to create a long lasting peace. He wanted to stop the fighting over land conflict, and give the people in Europe more rights. Also he wanted to form a league of nations so that a war like this would not happen again.
ReplyDelete2. The Paris Peace conference did not go so well. The 14 points Wilson drew up had to be changed so that other countries would agree. Also many countries wanted revenge on Germany and gave them some harsh punishments. They agreed on the league of nations but the U.S. decided to stay out.
3.United Nations is a group today that wants to help keep peace in the world. It is a group of countries who have allainces together and try to form peace. Right now they are working on helping resolve the conflict in Syria.

ReplyDelete2. It wasnt how it was planned. Wilson had to comprise on many of his points leaving neither Germany happy nor many Americans. Any good compromise leaves nobody happy.
3. The United Nations is like the league of nations only bigger. And it supposedly gets a lot more accomplished. It's missione is to help humanity through out the world. It's job is also to govern the world like putting bans on Iran.

1) Wilson's 14 points was a peace plan. It included 5 general principles for a peace settlement. There was "Open covenants of peace to replace secretive diplomacy." 2) A guaranteed freedom of the seas during wartime and peace." 3) Free trade without fear of retribution. 4) A drastic reduction in armaments. 5) Colonial claims should be adjusted to reflect the need of native peoples.
